Empowering Communities for Growth
Quavant brings fully functioning, leading-edge information & communication technology (ICT) networks to developing communities—despite the many challenges faced on the ground. These ICT networks serve as the bedrock for growth and change upon which communities can build strategic initiatives for economic, political, and social progress. To truly deliver on the promise ICT networks hold, several requirements must be met after the technology is in place. Local people must be empowered with the skills and knowledge to manage both the technology and the business aspects of the network. Only then can the result be a self-sustaining ICT network. We incorporate this dual focus into all of our projects, providing much-needed support to our clients during this critical transition period.

Bridging the Gap Between Technology Infrastructure and Human Potential
Phase One – ICT Infrastructure Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Infrastructure includes the specification, design, development, installation and implementation of the physical network. Typically, after completion of this work, the funding agency and primary contractor consider their work completed and depart. For Quavant, completion of the physical network represents just the first phase of the project.
Phase Two – Community EmpowermentIn phase two, the Community Empowerment phase of the project, the responsibility for the network shifts from the funding agency & primary contractor to the local community. The success of this transition is a crucial predictor for the long-term success of the project. The true value of the network hinges on the successful transfer of knowledge to make it a self-sustaining, financially viable business and a foundation for progress.
Quavant provides the training, resources, and support that enable the local community to use and manage the network with fiscal responsibility, in addition to imparting the skills necessary to operate it. Quavant does not consider a project complete until the local people possess the fundamental business, financial, and relationship management skills to make the network a highly productive asset.
The Community Empowerment phase does not occur overnight, it takes time as the local people acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence in their abilities becoming fully empowered and self-sustaining. Quavant recognizes the needs of developing communities and serves and stands ready as the community’s strategic partner throughout this transition.
